president obama is making a big push on immigration reform. he appeared on a couple of spanish language stations this past week and said he expects congress will have legislation for him to sign pretty soon. this is an issue that has the potential, in theory to unite america. after all, 68% of voters nationwide believe that immigration when done legally is good for the united states and by the way that support cuts across all party lines -- republicans, democrats unaffiliated voters all share the same belief but the devil is in the details. when you begin to look at different immigration proposals, you see why it's such a tough issue. comprehensive reform -- border security plus a path to citizenship, is supported by 59% of voters. if you add a requirement to make english the official language of the united states, support goes up a couple of points but always change underneath. liberals like the plan without english as the official language conservatives like the other plan. underlying all of this there's not a lot of trust in the federal gov
